The way to handle a reader in Wikipedia is to see the reader as someone who knows absolutely nothing about the topic at hand. You want to make it seem as if you have a lot of knowledge about the topic in which you are adding information to. Also you need to make sure that first you have made sense of what you are adding information to so that there will be no confusion for anyone else. You don't want to lead the reader in the wrong direction because remember the reader is someone that is likely to be clueless of the topic.
